Uniqlo, the renowned Japanese fashion brand, has opened its first-ever coffee shop in North America, Uniqlo Coffee, inside its Midtown Manhattan store. Located at 660 Fifth Avenue, between West 52nd and 53rd Streets, the café began serving customers on the second floor of the store last Friday. The café operates during the same hours as the retail store beneath it.
While this is Uniqlo Coffee’s debut in North America, the concept has already been successful in Asia, with locations in Japan, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. These Asian stores not only offer drinks like matcha lattes and cold brew but also feature a selection of pastries and desserts, offering a more expansive menu compared to the New York café, which currently focuses on beverages.
Uniqlo’s new venture in the U.S. brings a fresh twist to the retail landscape by combining fashion with a café experience, further blurring the lines between lifestyle and shopping.
