Coffee lovers and East Coast transplants flocked to Dunkin’ on Tuesday morning to take advantage of a special promotion celebrating the reopening of the Loveland location after a remodel. The first 100 customers received a credit on their Dunkin’ Rewards app, allowing them to enjoy free coffee every day for the next 100 days — but only at this Loveland store.
Starting at 9 a.m., eager customers lined up outside the Dunkin’ on 29th Street, many of them hailing from the East Coast, where the coffee and donut chain first gained fame and has become a cultural staple.
“I think it’s nostalgic,” said Ella Maxfield, a Colorado State University student from the Philadelphia area. Maxfield, who lives between Loveland and Fort Collins, brought her roommate, Rebecca Lawrence, to the shop early on Monday to get in line for the free coffee offer. While Maxfield is a self-proclaimed “obsessed” Dunkin’ fan, Lawrence admits to being more of a casual enthusiast.
