Tim Hortons has named Naira Saeed as its new Chief Operating Officer, a strategic move as the company readies itself to resume annual net outlet growth in Canada this year.
Saeed joined the Ontario – based coffee chain in 2017, initially taking on the role of Head of Finance. Since then, she has held several senior management positions, most recently serving as Vice President of Finance since January 2023.
In her new role as COO, Saeed will be responsible for overseeing Tim Hortons’ store operations and franchise development throughout Canada. She will report directly to Axel Schwan, the President of Tim Hortons Canada and US, and will succeed Matt Moore, who had been in the position since February 2022.
Axel Schwan expressed his confidence in Saeed, stating, “Naira is a highly respected leader among our restaurant owners. She fully grasps the significance of excellent operations and restaurant profitability. I’m extremely eager to witness how her wealth of experience will enable her to thrive in this crucial role, especially as we pursue exciting development opportunities in numerous communities across Canada.”
Established in 1964, Tim Hortons stands as Canada’s largest branded coffee chain, boasting over 3,880 stores. The business, backed by Restaurant Brands International, also operates more than 650 stores in the United States and an additional 1,500 stores across 20 international markets.
The quick – service restaurant (QSR) group currently operates 32,125 outlets globally within its licensed foodservice portfolio, which includes well – known fast – food chains such as Burger King, Popeyes, and Firehouse Subs.
