The Alliance for Coffee Excellence (ACE) and Cup of Excellence (CoE) have joined forces with V – Auction, a digital auction platform dedicated to coffee auctions, naming it their official auction platform.
Beginning with the Nicaragua competition winners on June 19, 2025, all auctions for CoE award – winning coffees and any other ACE – sponsored auctions will be hosted on V – Auction’s platform. This partnership aims to boost producers’ visibility and improve the buying experience.
A live demonstration of the platform will take place at the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Expo in Houston in April. This is to familiarize stakeholders with the platform. Additionally, ACE and V – Auction will offer online training in both English and Spanish to ensure a smooth adoption process.
Erwin Mierisch, the Executive Director at ACE, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “As we embark on the next 25 – year journey for Cup of Excellence, we’re thrilled to partner with an organization that is at the forefront of technology and shares our vision for the future. Cup of Excellence is a distinctive competition that brings far – reaching benefits to coffee – producing countries. This collaboration guarantees a seamless and outstanding auction experience. Moreover, it supports the exploration and implementation of additional programs that can lead to long – term gains for both farmers and buyers.”
Now in its 26th year, CoE serves as a bridge connecting individual farmers to buyers in the specialty coffee market. Since its inaugural auction in 1999, CoE has organized competitions in 16 coffee – producing nations.
