Dutch Bros, the Oregon-born coffee chain, is accelerating its nationwide expansion with plans to more than double its current footprint. The company, which started as a single pushcart in 1992, now operates over 1,000 locations and aims to reach 2,029 stores by 2029. Looking even further ahead, Dutch Bros has set a new long-term goal of opening more than 7,000 locations—nearly double its previous estimate of 4,000.
Alongside its rapid store growth, Dutch Bros is entering the consumer packaged goods market. Through a partnership with Trilliant Food & Nutrition, a leading coffee manufacturer, the company will introduce packaged coffee and related products in retail stores. CEO Christine Barone sees this as an opportunity to expand brand awareness, especially in newer markets. “This offering will provide exposure to potential customers who may not yet be familiar with Dutch Bros,” she said. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Dutch Bros Foundation, supporting local communities.
Despite its nationwide expansion, Dutch Bros remains committed to its Oregon roots. The company’s annual “Drink One for Dane Day” continues to raise funds for ALS research in honor of co-founder Dane Boersma.
From a small-town startup to a national coffee empire, Dutch Bros continues to blend ambitious growth with community-driven values.
