A long line of eager customers stretched around the block and down the street on Saturday, March 29, as Live Oak welcomed its newest coffee spot—Holy Grounds. The independent coffee shop, located at the corner of Fir and California Street, is owned by local businesswoman and City Councilmember Ashley Hernandez.
“I’m totally shocked by the turnout,” Hernandez said. “It’s so awesome to see.”
Before stepping into the coffee business, Hernandez worked in property management and maintenance for more than eight years. Over the last four years, she has become a key figure in the Live Oak community, serving on the City Council from 2022 to 2026. In December 2023, she was appointed mayor.
With such a strong opening day, Holy Grounds is already making a mark as a go-to spot for coffee lovers in Live Oak.
