Legendary shock rock band GWAR has teamed up with Concept Cafes and Coterie Coffee Co. to create a coffee as intense as their music—Berserker Mode Coffee. Fans can experience the new brew at a special release party on Saturday, April 5, at the GWARbar in Richmond, VA.
Drummer JiZMak hyped up the event in true GWAR fashion. “Hey, it’s me, JiZMak. Come on down to the GWARbar and try the Berserker Mode coffee on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. Meet the band, empty your wallets, and taste the second-best thing you’ve ever had in your mouth. A fresh cup of GWAR Berserker Mode coffee is all I need in the morning before the day’s battles… and also bacon, sex, memes, and drugs, mostly.”
Described as a bold, savage roast, Berserker Mode Coffee is packed with deep molasses notes and a sharp, candy-like sweetness. More than just a morning jolt, it’s a brew “forged in legend,” inspired by GWAR’s own Blothar the Berserker.
According to GWAR lore, Blothar once roamed the icy seas in a Viking longship. Drawn to the Indonesian archipelago by the song of a green, split-tailed mermaid, he fell in love—only to be left heartbroken, weeping like a “1,000-pound baby.” That sorrow, it seems, has been channeled into this ferocious new coffee blend.
For those brave enough to try it, Berserker Mode Coffee will be available at the GWARbar and select retailers.
