Parents in Old Saybrook will soon have a place to relax with a cup of coffee while their children play, as Peek-a-Brew Play Café prepares to open in early May at 118 Main Street.
Recently approved by the town’s Zoning Commission, Peek-a-Brew will offer a unique combination of a café and an indoor play space, catering to families looking for both entertainment and a high-quality coffee experience.
Sisters Maria Rapp and Kiki Anderson, who grew up in Old Saybrook, are leading the venture. They follow in the entrepreneurial footsteps of their mother, Mirsina Filindarakis, who has owned Mirsina’s on Main Street for the past decade.
“We saw a need for a space where parents could bring their kids for activities while also enjoying a really great coffee experience,” said Maria Rapp, co-founder of Peek-a-Brew. “But beyond that, we wanted to build something that brings people together—a café that feels like home.”
The sisters plan to create an engaging environment with interactive play areas designed to spark creativity and exploration for children, making Peek-a-Brew a welcoming space for the whole family.
