Product Safety New Zealand has issued a recall for a popular Kmart coffee cup, warning it could cause serious burns.
The product in question is the Anko Double Walled Coffee Cup. Officials say the lid may unexpectedly pop off when filled with hot liquid. This could lead to injuries from hot liquid or steam.
One person has already been hurt because of this issue.
Customers who bought the cup are being asked to stop using it and return it to their nearest Kmart store. Anyone who gave the cup as a gift or sold it to others should also let those people know about the recall.
Product Safety NZ is urging the public to take this warning seriously to prevent more injuries.
