Australian specialty coffee roaster Proud Mary has teamed up with U.S.-based company Cometeer to release three of its signature coffees in a new, flash-frozen capsule format.
Cometeer is known for its unique brewing method that flash-freezes brewed coffee into capsules. To enjoy the coffee, users simply add hot water to melt the capsule, instantly creating a fresh, high-quality cup. This method promises to preserve the flavor and complexity of specialty coffee while making it easy to prepare.
As part of this partnership, Cometeer will offer Proud Mary’s Humbler blend, Brazil Mantiqueira, and Ethiopia Deri Kidame in its “melt-to-enjoy” format.
“Partnering with Cometeer was a no-brainer,” said Nolan Hirte, Co-Founder of Proud Mary. “Tasting a George Howell Kenyan and a #1 Costa Rica from the Cup of Excellence while flying really opened my eyes. I realized that Cometeer had found a way to make coffee both convenient and truly exceptional in quality.”
Hirte shared that his first experience with Cometeer capsules was during a flight, where he packed a few capsules in his backpack, asked for hot water, and had one of his best in-flight coffee experiences—no brewing gear required.
“Cometeer is breaking down the barrier between convenience and quality. Proud Mary is thrilled to be part of this innovation,” he added.
The new Proud Mary frozen capsules are available exclusively on the Cometeer website. A pack of eight capsules starts at US$16.
“Proud Mary Coffee runs one of the best coffee shops in the world,” said Alex Kaplan, Head of Coffee at Cometeer. “They’ve redefined the café experience with their pour-over menus and perfectly brewed coffee. We’re proud to work with them.”
