French Truck Coffee, a New Orleans-based chain famous for its premium coffee and signature canary yellow storefronts, is set to open a new location in the East Carrollton neighborhood. The new store will be located at 7638 Maple Street, the former site of Zoe’s Bakery, which closed earlier this year.
Owner Geoffrey Meeker confirmed on Monday that this will be the company’s thirteenth store, with plans to open during the first week of May. Meeker described the East Carrollton area as a “great fit” for the growing coffee chain.
Founded in 2011, French Truck Coffee started at the corner of Fern and Berch streets in Carrollton, named after its vintage Citroën work trucks. The brand has since expanded to Baton Rouge and Memphis, Tennessee. Prior to opening the first storefront, Meeker roasted coffee beans in the laundry room of his Carrollton home.
