Italian grinder maker Mazzer has introduced the Mazzer Mini G, a grind-by-weight version of its popular Mazzer Mini. The Mini G was launched alongside an updated standard version of the Mini, both of which feature several improvements.
The new standard Mazzer Mini, which debuted earlier this month, has a slightly smaller footprint than its predecessor. The updated model includes a 280-gram (9.8-ounce) hopper, making it 45 millimeters (1.78 inches) shorter than the original Mini, which was first released in 1995.
Both new versions of the Mini are equipped with a custom asynchronous motor, designed for light-duty commercial use. This motor increases grinding speeds by more than 50% compared to older models.
The updated Mazzer Mini also features a touchscreen control panel for easy operation, while the grind-by-weight Mini G comes with a digital display for precise measurements. Additionally, Mazzer has introduced two new 64-millimeter flat steel burr sets, allowing the new machines to handle both dark and light roasts.
Both the Mazzer Mini and Mini G will be showcased at Mazzer’s booth (#1039) at the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Expo in Houston, where attendees can sample coffee brewed from both new burr sets.
