Two of the Valley’s most beloved culinary brands are joining forces to bring a unique coffee and pastry experience to Downtown Phoenix later this summer.
Peixoto Coffee, known for its farm-to-cup approach, is partnering with award-winning pastry chef Mark Chacón of Chacónne Pâtisserie to open a shared café at the corner of Garfield and Fifth streets. The collaboration marks the first time both brands will operate together under one roof.
“This is a unique model for us,” said Julia Peixoto Peters, who owns Peixoto Coffee with her husband, Jeff Peters. “We’re combining our passions to offer high-quality coffee and pastries in one space.”
Peixoto Coffee has been a standout in Arizona’s coffee scene since opening its first shop in Chandler in 2015. The company is known for importing and roasting beans grown on its family farm in Brazil. A second location followed in 2022 at Gilbert’s Epicenter at Agritopia.
Chacón, meanwhile, made waves with Chacónne Pâtisserie, which began as a ghost kitchen in late 2021. Within months, he was named a James Beard Award semi-finalist for Outstanding Pastry Chef. In 2024, Chacón opened his first storefront in Scottsdale, quickly earning a devoted following for his signature croissants and cardamom buns.
The partnership isn’t new. Peixoto Coffee has featured Chacónne’s pastries in its shops for years. But the idea of a joint café came together in 2023, when Peters and Chacón found what they described as the perfect location in the heart of the city.
Together, they plan to offer Phoenix residents a refined, welcoming space that blends top-tier coffee with world-class pastries — a match made in culinary heaven.
