Italian grinder manufacturer Ceado has unveiled its latest line of commercial espresso grinders under the new Rev series. The series includes three models: Rev Steel, Rev Titan, and Rev Zero, each designed with a focus on flat 83-millimeter steel burrs for precision grinding.
The Rev Steel features traditional pure steel burrs, while the Rev Titan boasts titanium-coated burrs for increased durability. The Rev Zero takes it a step further, featuring a titanium and aluminum “red-speed” coating for maximum endurance.
Key features across the Rev series include a modular grind-by-weight system, designed for enhanced accuracy, and retention-mitigation features to minimize waste. The grinders also feature the “Steady Lock” system, which prevents variations in the burr gap, ensuring consistent performance during periods of high use. Another highlight is the “Grounds Temperature Management (GTM)” system, which helps maintain cooler temperatures for coffee grounds, preserving flavor integrity.
The grind-by-weight system relies on the WAM (Weight Adjustment Module), a removable portafilter holder with an integrated scale. All Rev grinders come with the WAM installed, but it can also be purchased separately and installed in under five minutes. According to Cosimo Libardo, head of sales at Ceado, this feature offers flexibility for roasters and dealers by reducing stock costs, as the WAM allows for two versions of the same product without needing separate grinders.
For café owners, the WAM provides a cost-effective solution in case of damage to the load cell, as it can be easily replaced without taking the grinder out of service.
With these new models, Ceado aims to set a new standard for commercial espresso grinders, offering robust performance and versatile features for both high-demand settings and precise coffee crafting.
