Artidoro Rodríguez Café, a distinguished Peruvian coffee enterprise, has ventured into the U.S. market with the inauguration of its inaugural coffee bar in Manassas.
The news was announced by Claudio Felipe Munoz, proprietor of Taty’s, a renowned Peruvian restaurant located at 10768 Sudley Manor Drive, which will host the exclusive coffee bar within its premises.
Félix Rodríguez, CEO of Artidoro Rodríguez Café, expressed pride in this milestone, stating, “Artidoro is dedicated to bolstering Peruvian coffee cultivation, fostering connections between coffee communities and emerging global markets. We believe that exceptional coffee should not only deliver a delightful consumer experience but also serve as a catalyst for the aspirations of coffee farmers.” Following a successful expansion within Peru over the past seven years, the introduction of the Artidoro brand into the United States is bolstered by partnerships with two key distributors: Costa Verde for supermarket channels and Peruvian Foods for distribution in restaurants.
Statistics from the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (Promperú) underscore the significance of the U.S. market for Peruvian coffee. In 2023 alone, the U.S. imported $231 million worth of Peruvian coffee, constituting over 30% of the total $750 million exported globally that year. Coffee ranks among Peru’s primary agricultural exports, with 223,000 coffee-producing families managing approximately 425,400 hectares of coffee plantations annually. Spread across 14 coffee-producing regions, seven regions collectively account for 91% of producers and cultivable areas. Peru specializes in Arabica coffee, with prominent varieties including Tipica, Caturra, Borbón, and Pache.
The anticipated opening of the coffee bar is slated for early summer 2024, promising an exciting addition to Manassas’ culinary landscape.
