Kaldi’s Social House, a beloved local coffee shop chain, is set to open its third location in Arlington, targeting the vibrant Potomac Yard area. According to permits filed for the property located at 3639 S. Glebe Road, the new establishment will accommodate 114 seats indoors and an additional 35 seats outdoors.
Known for its diverse menu, Kaldi’s offers a range of traditional coffee drinks, teas, and smoothies, complemented by a selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. The restaurant distinguishes itself with a breakfast menu available until noon, featuring waffles, sandwiches, and a variety of toasts adorned with an array of toppings. For lunch and dinner, patrons can choose from an assortment of bowls, salads, and other culinary delights, including a signature steak sandwich and several all-day offerings.
Although a specific opening date has not been disclosed, the company has confirmed its expansion plans into Arlington’s bustling food scene. Kaldi’s originally launched in Maryland under the name Kaldi’s Coffee in 2014, with its flagship location still operating successfully in downtown Silver Spring.
In 2020, Kaldi’s ventured into Arlington with a location in Clarendon at 3110 10th Street N. Despite challenges posed by the pandemic, the coffee shop has thrived and continues to attract a steady flow of customers, establishing itself as a popular destination in Clarendon.
