A fresh addition to the Newland Avenue dining scene has arrived with the launch of C&D’s Coffee House.
The much-anticipated coffee shop opened its doors to the public on July 22, following a whirlwind transformation. Owners Danny Wilson and Chantelle Myers took possession of the premises just over two weeks ago and have since revamped the space to bring their vision to life.
C&D’s Coffee House initially previewed its offerings with a discreet soft launch over the weekend, gradually opening to a broader audience. The café now welcomes customers with a diverse menu featuring an array of coffees, teas, and a rotating selection of toasties.
Danny Wilson, one of the owners, shared his thoughts on the opening: “The launch has gone well so far. We haven’t seen a huge crowd during the soft launch, but we expected this given the current student break.”
Transitioning from a career in bar management to the coffee industry, Wilson expressed his enthusiasm for the change. “I enjoy the service aspect, and this shift to coffee offers a chance for a different kind of daily routine. It’s all about adjusting to the daytime trade and enjoying a more regular schedule.”
Wilson noted that while C&D’s Coffee House focuses primarily on beverages, the food menu remains straightforward, featuring toasties and pasties – quintessential fare for any coffee shop.
