Michaela Wilson, a Southampton barista, has been chosen to join a prestigious team of 130 baristas, service engineers, and team managers representing Costa Coffee at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Currently a restaurant supervisor at Haskins Garden Centre in West End, Michaela is the only barista from Costa’s partner brands selected for this unique opportunity.
“This is an incredible chance to be involved in one of the world’s largest events, and I am thrilled to represent Haskins alongside top Costa Coffee baristas,” Michaela stated. “We’ve undergone rigorous training to prepare for this, and I’m eager to take on the challenge.”
Costa Coffee will have a significant presence at several prominent locations throughout Paris, including the Athletes’ Village, Place de la Concorde, Roland Garros, and the Eiffel Tower.
Michaela expressed her excitement: “I never imagined being part of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and I am immensely grateful for this opportunity.”
Jason Froggatt, Group Catering Manager at Haskins, praised Michaela’s achievement: “We are incredibly proud of Michaela. Her journey from competing in Costa Coffee’s Global Barista of the Year finals in 2023 to being recognized on an international stage exemplifies the talent and dedication we foster at Haskins.”
“At Haskins, we are committed to supporting our team members in developing their skills and achieving excellence, enabling them to shine on global platforms,” Froggatt added.
