Kane Pulford-Roberts, owner of The Clubhouse Coffee & Cycles, has introduced a unique coffee blend now available on the Settle to Carlisle railway trolley service. This effort, led by the Settle Carlisle Railway Development Company, aims to showcase local products.
Pulford-Roberts, who developed a passion for coffee during lockdown, traveled to South America to source his beans, even handpicking some in Peru. “It’s amazing to have my coffee on the trolley,” he said. “I’m passionate about sustainable and ethical coffee, and roasting our own beans ensures quality.”
Susie Payne, operational manager of the Settle Carlisle Railway Development Company, praised the partnership. “We aim to provide the best refreshments and support local businesses. Kane’s coffee is a perfect fit,” she said.
Additionally, Penrith-based Eden Brewery has crafted a new ale for the trolley service’s 20th anniversary. The railway company has also created a Women’s Institute-style calendar for 2025, with proceeds supporting Yorkshire Air Ambulance. This summer, passengers can enjoy Clubhouse Coffee, the new ale, and the calendar on the trolley service.
