Corner Rock Cafe, a new coffee shop and ice cream parlor, is set to open soon in Chesterfield’s Winterfield Place shopping center at 3734 Winterfield Road.
The cafe is the brainchild of Chris Staples and Bob Graham, co-owners of Toast New American Gastropub and Sidecar Cocktail Lounge, along with Clay Gilbert, owner of Black Hand Coffee Co. Staples, who has a long history with Winterfield Place, saw a gap in the market for a coffee and ice cream shop in the area.
“With no available spots until Bella Arte Gallery closed, we jumped at the chance to fill the void,” Staples said.
Corner Rock Cafe will serve Black Hand coffee and offer a menu with breakfast sandwiches, paninis, and grilled cheeses. Ashby’s Ice Cream will supply the ice cream, and the cafe is pursuing an ABC license for alcohol-infused coffee drinks.
The cafe is expected to open in the coming weeks. Staples will soon shift focus to a new Toast location at Scott’s Walk, expected to open around Labor Day.
