EU Becomes Top Market for Vietnamese Coffee

by Jessica

In the first half of 2024, the European Union (EU) has solidified its position as Vietnam’s largest coffee market. According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the EU has accounted for nearly 40% of Vietnam’s coffee exports. This equates to over 353,000 tons of coffee, generating a value exceeding 1.2 billion USD.

Vietnam’s coffee industry has now edged out India, Switzerland, and Brazil to become the second-largest supplier of processed coffee—such as instant coffee and coffee mixtures—to the EU, trailing only behind the United Kingdom.

Notably, Vietnam’s export revenue from instant coffee and coffee extracts to the EU surged by 86% in the first five months of 2024 compared to the same period last year, reaching 64.5 million euros.
