The Best of Panama auction achieved new heights as the Lamastus Family Estates’ Elida Geisha Natural Vuelta sold for a record US$10,013 per kilogram in the Geisha Natural category. Adaura Coffee’s Kaizen Washed Geisha followed with a price of US$10,002 per kilogram in the Geisha Washed category. In the Varietals Category, Black Moon Farm’s Chiroso varietal reached US$1,630 per kilogram.
The total auction value soared to US$1,383,719, with an average price of US$1,383 per kilogram.
Ana Luisa Miranda of the Specialty Coffee Association of Panama praised the event, highlighting the dedication of producers and buyers. Tokyo’s Saza Coffee won multiple lots, including the top two, while Yoshihito Nakano from Definitive Coffee secured the Black Moon Farm lot.
M-Cultivo CEO David Paparelli celebrated the auction’s success in showcasing premium coffees and enhancing industry standards. The Best of Panama, organized by the Specialty Coffee Association, annually features top coffees evaluated by international juries.
