Oblivion Coffee Bar & Mercantile to Shut Down After One Year Due to Building Problems

by Jessica

Hailey Koep, the founder of Oblivion CoffeeBar & Mercantile, announced that her establishment will be closing its doors after just one year of operation. Koep, who launched the coffee shop in August 2023 at 27 7th Avenue North in downtown St. Cloud, described the venture as a realization of a long-held dream. She shared the news with the community through a heartfelt message on the coffee shop’s Facebook page, expressing gratitude for the support received over the past year.

In her announcement, Koep reflected on the challenges that led to the closure. “The decision to close was unforeseeable,” she stated. “From the start, the building presented numerous issues that have drained us significantly. Despite our efforts, we’ve been unable to overcome these obstacles, making this farewell all the more difficult.”

The location, which previously housed a wine bar, had been vacant for seven years before Oblivion Coffee Bar & Mercantile took over. Koep concluded her message by thanking the community for their patronage and support.
