Work has officially commenced on Kline’s Espresso Bar, a new coffee stand set to be located directly behind Kline’s Dairy Bar in Waynesboro. The venture, spearheaded by Kim Arehart, the owner of the well-known ice cream shop, is poised to add a new dimension to the Kline’s brand.
When Kline’s Dairy Bar first opened, it offered both ice cream and coffee. However, as the business grew, Arehart decided to focus solely on ice cream, though her interest in coffee remained strong.
Arehart had purchased the lot behind her existing shop about a decade ago. Now, she believes the time is right to develop the coffee stand, citing improvements in staffing, increased business acumen, and more favorable real estate conditions.
“We have more experienced staff now,” Arehart explained. “Previously, the staff was mostly teenagers, but with a more mature team and the increased pay rates in the fast food industry, I’m able to undertake new projects.”
While other Kline’s locations have included coffee as part of their ice cream offerings, this new establishment will be the first dedicated exclusively to coffee.
“We have been diligently refining our menu and designs, and we’re preparing to launch our website and social media channels as part of our pre-opening efforts,” Arehart said.
The new coffee stand is expected to open its doors by the end of this year.
