McCafé has announced the launch of its latest product: Espresso Coffee Capsules compatible with Nespresso® Original Coffee Machines. This new offering marks a significant step forward in both sustainability and coffee quality.
The new capsules, developed in collaboration with TerraCycle®, are commercially compostable. They promise a refined coffee experience, featuring a rich, balanced flavor profile and a creamy crema, thanks to a blend of Rainforest Alliance Certified Arabica beans.
The McCafé Espresso Coffee Capsules cater to a range of preferences with multiple roast intensities. Coffee enthusiasts can choose from light roast with sweet caramel notes, medium roast with hints of chocolate and hazelnut, or dark roast with deep flavors of dark chocolate and roasted almonds.
Jeff Kroll, Chief Strategy Officer and SVP at McDonald’s Canada, expressed enthusiasm about the new product: “Our compostable Espresso Coffee Capsules are designed to enhance the coffee experience for Canadians. We are excited to offer McCafé’s premium taste in a format that works seamlessly with Nespresso® Original Coffee Machines.”
In addition to their compostable nature, the capsules come packaged in recyclable flexible bags, part of the McCafé Free Composting & Recycling Program by TerraCycle. Consumers can join this initiative by signing up on TerraCycle’s website to receive a free shipping label for mailing back used capsules.
The McCafé Espresso Coffee Capsules are now available at select retailers across Canada.
