Yu, surprised by the widespread use of coffee makers in the U.S. after relocating, embarked on a quest to discover diverse coffee flavors through grocery store explorations and home brewing experiments. He was particularly enamored with the rich, chocolaty, and nutty notes of well-roasted coffee beans, free from cream and sugar.

Yu’s eureka moment came while navigating the grocery store aisles, where he identified an opportunity to revolutionize the instant coffee sector. “Instant coffee has long been criticized for its burnt, unpleasant taste,” Yu noted. “Yet it remains a last resort for those seeking a quick caffeine fix.
