Costa Coffee Partners with Podback for Coffee Pod Recycling Trial

Brazilian coffee chain The Coffee has unveiled plans to extend its international footprint with new store openings in Puerto Rico, Armenia, Malaysia, Australia, and Canada.

The Curitiba-based company will open its first location in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in September 2024. This will be followed by expansions to Yerevan, Armenia, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in October 2024. The Coffee also aims to establish new outlets in Sydney, Australia, and Toronto, Canada, by the end of the year. These moves will mark the brand’s inaugural entries into Oceania and North America.

Founded in 2018, The Coffee has rapidly accelerated its global expansion over the past year, with recent launches in Chile, Mexico, Thailand, the UAE, and Austria. The coffee chain now operates across 10 markets, including Latin America, Europe, East Asia, and the Middle East.

Supported by São Paulo-based venture capital firms CapSur and Monashees, The Coffee has secured $17.5 million in funding over the past two years to support its international growth strategy. The company aims to open over 1,000 stores outside Brazil by 2028.
