Espresso machine manufacturer Rancilio Group has released two new technical videos, offering an inside look at the cutting-edge coffee extraction technology used in its professional coffee machine lineup. The videos, available on YouTube, utilize advanced 3D animation to explain the mechanics behind the company’s single- and multi-boiler machines, providing a detailed view of their internal systems.
In the videos, viewers are guided through complex hydraulic circuits, complete with simulations that show how water interacts with ground coffee during the extraction process. This visual breakdown highlights the sophistication of the technology powering Rancilio’s machines.
“By visually showcasing how our technology operates and explaining its benefits, we can communicate at various levels of detail, appealing to a broad audience,” said Carles González, Coffee Competence & Product Manager at Rancilio Group.
The first video focuses on Rancilio’s Steady Brew (SB) technology, featured in its single-boiler machines such as the Classe 5, Classe 20, and Invicta. The animation dissects the pre-infusion and post-infusion processes in the Invicta model, walking viewers through each phase. Additionally, the video demonstrates the T-Switch function, which allows users to manually adjust brewing temperatures for each group.
“These videos are not just for internal training or authorized technicians but also for baristas and anyone in the industry looking to deepen their understanding of our products’ innovative features,” González added.
The second video shifts the spotlight to Rancilio’s multi-boiler models, showcasing the Advanced Steady Brew (ASB) system’s hydraulic circuitry. It also explains the differences between the Xcelsius (XTP) and Advanced Temperature Profiling (ATP) technologies, emphasizing how temperature control can impact espresso preparation.
“The goal was to translate the results of scientific and sensory research into practical machine features, showing how temperature profiling can elevate espresso quality,” González explained.
Using language familiar to the digital audience, Rancilio aimed to provide a clear and engaging summary of their technological advancements and diverse product range.
The videos also cover pre-infusion and post-infusion techniques available in the RS1 multi-boiler machines, showcasing how Rancilio’s systems work together to optimize coffee extraction.
Both videos conclude by comparing the different technologies in Rancilio’s professional coffee machines and its Rancilio Specialty range, giving technicians, baristas, and coffee enthusiasts a comprehensive understanding of the company’s offerings.
