Spanish bakery-café chain Granier has announced ambitious plans to nearly double its international footprint by the end of 2025. Founded in Barcelona in 2010, Granier made its first foray into international markets in Miami three years later. The chain is known for its extensive selection of artisanal bread, savory pastries, and premium coffee, currently operating 270 locations in Spain and 56 in seven international markets.
Michel Conde, Granier’s Director of Brand Expansion, revealed that the company aims to strengthen its presence in existing international markets, particularly in Venezuela, where it has opened 31 stores since 2019. The chain also plans to expand its UK operations from two to 15 locations by 2026.
Additionally, Granier is exploring franchise opportunities in the Middle East and Africa, while also considering Paraguay and Italy as potential new markets. “Entering the international market has been one of the most important and satisfying challenges. Our international audience has a medium-high purchasing power, which allows us to strengthen the brand in each new market we reach,” Conde stated.
Beyond Spain, Venezuela, and the UK, Granier operates stores in the United States, the Dominican Republic, Andorra, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Panama. The company anticipates a 5% year-on-year revenue growth in 2024, aiming for approximately €50 million ($55.5 million).
