Notably, the Hong Kong International Airport is transforming from a coffee wasteland into a more appealing destination for caffeine seekers, making those early morning departures a little less daunting.
1. Sang Roastery
Sang Roastery has opened a new location in Central, catering to those hesitant to travel across the harbor. Positioned across from PMQ, this “Sangtral” café features a striking facade adorned with the brand’s signature red logo. The roastery sources and roasts its own beans from ethical suppliers, offering a selection of drip coffees known for their distinctive flavors.

2. Hoo
Mid-Levels residents can now enjoy Hoo, which presents a focused coffee menu, including options for black, white, or drip coffee with a selection of four specialty beans. The café also serves simple dishes like sourdough toasts topped with berries, corned beef, or kaya. For adventurous coffee drinkers, Hoo offers an “omakase” experience to sample various brews.

3. Fineprint
Celebrating its eighth anniversary, Fineprint has expanded its original Sai Ying Pun location by taking over a neighboring store. This new communal space features terrace seating, ideal for people-watching. The menu has also been enhanced to include additional baked goods available for both dine-in and takeaway.

4. Sipper Coffee
Recently opened by award-winning barista Jasper Yiu, Sipper Coffee is a cozy spot in Wan Chai, located near the Blue House tenement block. Despite its limited seating, the café attracts a steady stream of coffee enthusiasts. Currently, it features beans from local roasters Smoky Shark Coffee.

5. % Arabica
% Arabica continues its global expansion, now landing at Hong Kong International Airport’s departure hall—a long-awaited addition. While other specialty brands have also opened recently, Arabica’s prime location just past immigration sets it apart. Additionally, a smaller branch has opened in Central’s Entertainment Building, uniquely positioned along a bustling pedestrian walkway.
