Starbucks is continuing its momentum in the beverage market with the upcoming release of a ready-to-drink Iced Energy option, following the successful launch of its Iced Energy drink line in June. Despite the cooling temperatures, the coffee chain is gearing up to satisfy customers’ cravings for refreshing beverages. Content creator @snackolator recently shared news about this launch on Instagram, hinting that the drinks will be available in stores soon.
According to Snackolator, the announcement was made for the upcoming National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) show. While the specific flavors have yet to be fully revealed, it has been confirmed that the Iced Energy drinks will be zero sugar and will include at least one flavor: Tropical Peach.
While details remain limited, the Iced Energy drinks previously available at Starbucks locations contained up to 205 milligrams of caffeine—equivalent to about six and a half 12-ounce cans of Coca-Cola. The image shared by Snackolator indicated that the Tropical Peach flavor will contain 160 milligrams of caffeine. The Food and Drug Administration suggests that healthy adults can consume up to 400 milligrams of caffeine daily, roughly the equivalent of four to five cups of coffee.
The original Iced Energy lineup included three flavors available in Starbucks stores: Melon Burst, Tropical Citrus, and a limited-time Frozen Tropical Citrus Iced Energy with Strawberry Puree exclusive to the app. The new ready-to-drink options will be available in retail stores, expanding Starbucks’ reach beyond its cafes.
While the fruity energy drink line proved popular during the summer, it remains to be seen how well it will perform in the cooler months. Enthusiastic comments on Snackolator’s post reflect anticipation: one user expressed excitement for the Tropical Peach flavor, while others noted their curiosity about the new drink compared to Starbucks’ previously discontinued energy drink, Baya, which was pulled from shelves due to low sales.
As fans eagerly await more information and an official release date, it seems that Starbucks is poised to make a splash in the ready-to-drink energy beverage market this season.
