The Costa Coffee branch in Fleet Walk, Burnley, has officially closed its doors for good. Although the café has been empty since the beginning of September 2024, the company has now confirmed that the closure is permanent and the location will be replaced by another shop.

A spokesperson for Costa Coffee stated, “We can confirm that our Costa Coffee store on Fleet Walk, Burnley, which is owned and operated by one of our corporate partners, closed for trade at the beginning of September 2024. Customers are still able to visit the Costa Coffee store located in Tesco on Centenary Way.”

The news has disappointed many local shoppers. One customer expressed their frustration: “Absolutely gutted on Saturday when I couldn’t get my Costa!” Another remarked, “The town centre is dying a slow death,” while a third humorously labeled the situation a “Costa living crisis.”

This branch had only recently reopened in July 2022 following a refurbishment. In recent months, Costa Coffee has closed several of its locations across the country.
