MINNEAPOLIS—Responding to the surge in popularity of cold espresso-based drinks, Peace Coffee, a Minneapolis-based coffee company, has unveiled its latest offering: Organic and Fair Trade Peace Coffee Premium Concentrate. Designed for cold or iced espresso beverages, the shelf-stable and ready-to-use concentrate is crafted from Peace Coffee’s ethically sourced Yeti Blend beans and is now available for food service and wholesale customers.
According to the National Coffee Association, cold brew coffee has seen a remarkable 300 percent rise in popularity compared to pre-pandemic levels. A recent 2024 survey by the Specialty Coffee Association further reveals that 42 percent of specialty coffee drinkers enjoyed cold coffee in the past week, while 75 percent consider cold brew to be trendy. Peace Coffee’s new concentrate is designed to cater to this growing demand, enabling food service operators to efficiently expand their menu offerings with cold and iced beverages without the need for additional brewing equipment.
Aligning with Consumer Preferences for Ethical and Trendy Options
“Peace Coffee’s success has always been rooted in our commitment to ecologically responsible, Fair Trade-certified coffee,” stated Lee Wallace, CEO and owner of Peace Coffee. “Our Premium Concentrate reflects both consumer demands for variety and affordability and our mission to provide quality, sustainable coffee. This new product not only meets the trend toward cold coffee but also reinforces our values of environmental harmony and fair pricing.”
The Peace Coffee Premium Concentrate is made with the brand’s Yeti blend, a medium roast known for its smooth, chocolatey flavor profile. The product is available in 32-ounce plastic bottles, which are shelf-stable for over nine months and last two weeks when refrigerated after opening. Each bottle yields two gallons of cold brew, which equates to over 21 servings of 12-ounce iced espresso-based drinks.
Commitment to Sustainability and Fair Trade Practices
Since its founding in 1996, Peace Coffee has sourced over 15 million pounds of green coffee from small-scale cooperatives in more than 12 countries. In 2023, 98 percent of Peace Coffee’s beans came from cooperatives with which they have maintained relationships for over five years. As a certified B Corp, Peace Coffee allocates three cents per pound of coffee purchased to initiatives focused on carbon, climate, and coffee, underscoring its dedication to sustainability and social responsibility.
