Wawa, the beloved convenience store chain, is set to officially open its latest location in Piscataway on Friday, October 11, 2024. To celebrate the occasion, the store will offer a variety of free treats, including coffee, to patrons throughout the day.
The grand opening festivities will kick off at 7:45 a.m. at the new store located at 421 Stelton Road, at the intersection of South Washington Avenue. Community leaders, alongside Wawa’s mascot Wally Goose, are expected to join the celebration. Highlighting the community spirit, the New Market Fire Company and the Piscataway Police Department will engage in a friendly competition, “Hoagies for Heroes,” starting at 8 a.m.
In addition to free coffee all day, the first 100 customers will receive complimentary T-shirts commemorating Wawa’s 60th anniversary. This marks the second Wawa store in Piscataway, with another location previously established on New Durham Avenue.
Looking ahead, Wawa has announced plans for a new site in Middlesex County. The local planning authority recently approved construction on an empty lot; however, a start date for this project has yet to be determined.
Currently, Wawa operates approximately 300 stores across New Jersey, reinforcing its status as a staple in the region.
